Christmas with Berrie: Easy Christmas Iced/Hot Latte //

I realize that Singapore christmas will never be the same because it's hot and Christmas is all about snow and blankets, but you make do with what you've got. Thats why I have created a simple Christmas Latte recipe that will keep you warm and cozy whether it be iced or not, this holiday season.

It's really simple and not anything complicated, but it tastes amazing. You just need some spices, milk, a pan and some festive spirit!
Ingredients:

2 Sticks of Cinnamon
Few Cloves
Few Cardamom pods
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
Desired amount of any milk.
A festive cup :)

The first thing you need to do, Is put all of the spices into a mortar and grind them all together with a pestle. It doesn't need to be completely ground it just need to open up the spices to get all the aromas flowing together. At this point you don't need to put the cinnamon stick in, but you can put a pot on the stove and start heating up the milk. The flame should be on low as we want the latte to simmer.

After you have ground down the spices, add them to the simmering milk and stir for around 5-7 minutes. It should simmer and not boil, as the spices need to infuse into the milk. Make sure you keep stirring until it is nice and aromatic. At this point you should be able to smell the spices in the kitchen and you should prepare your cup with ice.

I like to do mine iced, as hot drink eventually get you overheated here in Asia but you can make this hot or cold. I decided to put mine in a glass jar and used the excess cinnamon sticks to garnish. Once you have turned the heat off, you can then use a sieve to strain the spice pods out and pour it into the glass. Et Voila! Your very own festive drink for the holiday season! Great for a nice night in or make in batches for a christmas party!

Do you like my christmas series so far?
