The Brick lip edit- Whirl and Tonkin //

Ive not always been one for wearing really bright lip colours because I feel like they make my lips look a wee bit overpowering on my face. Don't get me wrong, I have a few reds in my collection and the odd orange lippie, but in general hot pinks and purples are not my thing. I prefer to keep things more natural on the lip front and thats why I have been loving this 90's lip trend at the moment. Probably kickstarted by Kylie Jenner's infamous pout, the 90's lip look introduces a more ashier side to things, incorporating bricks, browns, ash mauves and deep purples. My personal favourite being the brick shades, I have given a liking to NARS' matte lipstick in "Tonkin". Gifted to me by my ever so kind Chum Zazie, I have been wearing this lipstick non stop ever since I got it. It is a really love matte lip colour that isn't actually too bold on the lips. It really channels the inner 90's Revlon Revolutionary advert girl, and I love it. I have recently been looking to invest in a good lipliner and although i opted for a nude, I managed to walk away with MAC's renowned Whirl liner. Said to be worn by Kylie herself, Whirl is an exact match to Tonkin and complements the longevity of it perfectly. This combo is fresh and a great addition to a basic eye.
