Highlighting Concealers: Is Touche Eclat really worth it?

BerrieBlogs©
So, We are all aware of the much hyped YSL Touche Eclat Highlighting pen. It's beautiful gold packaging and easy wake me up properties make it one of the most lusted after beauty products ever, but the question is, Is it really worth all the hype?. Although the easy to use highlighting concealer has many properties that make it really good. It covers dark circles, doesn't cake, highlights the face and make sure that it no way possible the face looks fatigued. The thing is, Im not sure you will really have to spend some ridiculous amount of money for something that you can get at boots for 1/4 of the price. The Loreal Lumi Maqique Concealer is pretty much identical to Touche Eclat. It is light, highlighting and pretty much covers dark circles. Although this is twisty not pushy, The only thing different I notice is the fact that it feels a little less luxurious. The brush is is a bit wider and the consistency isn't as thin, but these aren't that hard to work around. So, My conclusion is this, Although the packaging is pretty and it feels super swish to apply, I highly suggest you even just try out the Lumi Magique concealer. Even if you don't like it (which I highly doubt you wont), at least you have saved £20 on something that may not even be worth it!

Have you tried Touche Eclat?

  2. I never try any of the items you just mention, but I do love Benefit Watt's Up, a pretty colored champagne highlighter for the face.

  4. I totally agree! The YSL Concealer really is overpriced and you get the same effects/benefits from something much cheaper xx

  5. Touche Eclat seems to be that one high-end staple that hasn't made it onto my wishlist, and I think this post reaffirms the reasons I don't need it. Maybe I'll try out the Lumi Magique, and it's really fabulous, I'll give the YSL concealer a spin as well.

We've never thought to look for a Touche Eclat dupe because we're so in love with it. We are in agreement that the YSL is pretty expensive, but sometimes you need that little bit of luxury in your everyday routine!
