// The Power of Aloe Vera //

Im all for home made remedies and stripping back to basics. Recently, I went a bit hard on the razor and found myself with tiny razor bumps all over my legs. They were itchy and I had no idea what to put on them, until I thought of this. Aloe vera is an all purpose gel which comes from the Aloe Vera plant. It is a clear gel like substance found in the succulent plant. Aloe Vera contains over 200 active components like vitamins and minerals. It is a natural Adaptogen meaning it can boost the body's natural abilities to defend against illness and external changes. It is also a vulnerary meaning it helps to repair wounds and contains analgesic which can help to relieve pain. Lastly, Aloe vera is an anti inflammatory. Now all the fancy bits are out the way I will tell you how I managed to calm down the rash and get back to shaving my hairy pins. I used this every night to moisturise the skin. Moisturising meant that the skin can loosen up a bit and make sure it doesn't get dry patches. It also helped to reduce redness and soothed the itchy bumps. It doesn't smell and was really cooling on the skin after I had been scratching. It was a bit naughty that I was scratching because It meant that the top layer of skin began to peel off and bleed (sorry). This created mini sores on my leg which created even more healing time. I then decided to use my Lucas PawPaw ointment mixed with the aloe to make a double trouble healing balm-gel (yes thats call it that Aerin). Slowly but surely after a week of sore skin the scabs began to dry up and now It just waiting for them to go away. I hope they go away in the next few days because I haven't shaved my legs in a week and a day ( ill let you picture that).

  2. I am in LOVE with aloe vera! I use it every day especially during the summer when it's super hot outside since I live in LA. It's so amazing! I use one that has a slight scent to it which I love :) I use it honestly twice a day and more when I'm getting a sunburn or after shaving like you said :P I love that last ending when you said (Ill let you picture that)

    Your humor is great! :)

Also, thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog, Aerin! :) It was a lot of work illustrating all the macarons and such but so worth it! Glad you enjoyed it xx

Hope you're having a beautiful Monday!

  4. I absolutely love using Aloe Vera for everything. To me aloe vera and tea tree are the two beauty products that I 100% could not live without. My favourite way to use it is on sunburn or dry skin. It's also super healthy to ingest so I add aloe vera juice to my smoothies too. Great post! :)
